IT’S HERE! The Wind Moon, or Death Moon, as some werewolves call it, bringing with it the first, but NOT THE LAST, Survivors of the Month.
(Please don’t fall for any crazy stories about “Worm Moons” tonight! It’s not called the “Worm Moon.” That’s just a rumour started by angry wereworms.)
(If you think werewolves are angry, you should see the wereWORMs. An angrier bunch of worms you will not meet.)
So while the Wind Werewolves and Wereworms are on the prowl, Graham and I have been calculating the first Survivors of the Month and preparing our little thank-you, a ten dollar iTunes card number and a profile story for the front page.
And before I announce the Wind Moon Winners, I just want to say 2 things:
1. I appreciate everyone who comes to the site and everyone who comments.
(Well almost everyone. There was that one really rude Spambot. I did not put his name into the draw.)
But the point is, without you, I would have hung up my Survival shoes, (Converse, Size 10), a loooooooooooong time ago. YOU are what keeps everyone keeping on. YOU make survival fun. So if you didn’t win the little prize this month, please accept my gratitude. A pale substitute, I know. But there’s always next month!
2. We decided at the last minute to draw two names this month so that we can have a Survivor of the Month for every month in 2012. We will do the same thing next month for the Wild Moon then we will be caught up. We chose the winners by giving one “ticket” for each helpful or fun comment or email your made, then we had the SOS server randomly pick two “tickets” ie: randomly generate the result from among the pool of entries.
So without further ado, here are the first two Survivors of the Month. You can guess who they are by their avatars:
Now to email the lucky winners and summarize their stories. Summarizing their stories is the hardest part! That’s going to take a while as each of these Survivors have contributed a lot. But I wanted to announce the results before anybody wolfed out.
(Er, maybe too late. If so, please accept my apologies and try not to bite anyone. Especially not any worms. There’s more than enough angry wereworms out there tonight.)
So thanks for keeping on. Next draw is on the Wild Moon when there will be two more lucky survivors.
Remember with survival, everyone wins!
