Bring on the Season of the Witch! News from Delaware this week raises the prospect that witches, fresh from their recent tax victory in Romania, may now be orchestrating a run on the U.S. Senate. But the question remains, will they continue to support Republican candidate Christine O’Donnell?
Christine O’Donnell, a Republican nominee seeking Delaware’s open senate seat, is refusing to confirm or deny her continued involvement with the witches despite previous public admissions to journalist Bill Maher which were widely publicized on YouTube this week. In the video, linked below, Ms. O’Donnell admits to “dabbling” in witchcraft but not to representing any particular coven.
So the obvious question on everyone’s mind, are the witches, normally content to exert their influence on the people in power through their magic and rituals behind the scenes, now turning directly to the voters for more influence on events?
When I put the question to the Ms Maria Campina, White Magic Queen of the witches, I received no direct reply only a referral to public comments on the issue.
“Ms O’Donnell clearly needs more practice, as both a witch and a politician. We witches do NOT, nor have we ever, worshiped Satan. I can’t speak for the politicians.”
So the question remains. Are the witches now backing away from Christine O’Donnell in order to salvage their secret government strategy? Only time will tell.
One thing is clear the 2010 Season of the Witch is shaping up to be one of the liveliest ever.
