As promised the Second Tetrad Moon rose blood red over North America in the early hours of the morning, bringing supernatural weirdness and spectacular photos to SOS in addition to the big announcement – a new SOS Hall of Fame entry.

Watch here as I attempt to summarize the supernatural situations unfolding here on the pages of SOS and reveal a few clues to the identity of the new Hall of Famer, again with some apologies for my relative absence from the site over the last few weeks. For those who don’t know, Graham and I have been preparing for a Halloween party here on the site with a spate of new Monstrometer Reports that are almost ready to go.
For a quick recap on the SOS Hall of Fame follow this link. It’s not a big hall – now only six members in fact – but in brief it’s a small SOS thank-you to a survivor who has been supernaturally helpful to fostering the survival of the site and keeps us coming back from moon to moon.
This post in progress…
Who Opened The Demon Portal?
–>> Three independent reports of a demon portal opening in the dark of the blood moon so its official. Until the entry site can be located and closed, survivors are advised to be on the lookout tonight for the the following:
1. Dudes – or dudettes – by the name of “Damon,” “Damion” or any other name that generally sounds otherwise demonically derived. Like say MADAMA SHADE… if that doesn’t sound supernaturally suspicious I don’t know what does. Which reminds me… black fingernails that aren’t polished? A dead giveaway!
2. Especially if they challenge you to a game of chess. No matter how good you might be at the game, you cannot afford the stakes.
3. Crows and ravens and insects behaving suspiciously and gargoyles behaving well… any way at all other than like a statue… RED ALERT GARGOYLES ESCAPE FROM LOCKED BASEMENT… SOS INVESTIGATES….
–>> Please note: this is not the time for a BBQ or for cupid catching, no matter what KUROGANE says. You would that he would have learned by now…
New Class of Creature?
–>> What’s this? THE PROTECTED sounds like a class of demon to me. Otherwise who is really the protection here? Or what are they in fact protecting? The portal?
Follow the Reaper’s Trail
–>> Well well is THIS where it all began? When the clock struck twelve who dared to delve?

The only question left to answer is… Where the heck is my Scythe? I didn’t leave it on the subway again… Did I…?
You misplaced your scythe, Reaper? I’ve misplaced my spellbook. (Almost lost my Daywalker ring, but found it, thankfully.) what does your scythe look like anyways? Maybe I could help you look for it. I’m always seeing things misplaced or left behind by creatures.
-Raven
Damon opening the demon portal? Doubt it, to be honest. My friend who has Damon running through his veins is the only person alive that can contain Damon, and he wouldn’t allow Damon to open the portal. My friend would just close it again if he did. I spoke to him earlier (my friend, not Damon) and he said that this portal was not opened by Damon, but he won’t be able to close the portal easily. I pray to the god and goddess that he is able to close it. I fear for my mortal friends’ lives, and the others here on the website who live in this dimension.
Stay safe!
-Raven
Hold on a second…where’s my bow? Have any of you guys seen it?
*i whistle nochalantly and twiddle my thumbs*
What does your bow look like? I can help you find it. Well, if I’m given a description. And has anyone seen my spellbook? Damon said he didn’t take it, so who did? Maybe it was Asoleth…
Stay safe!
-Raven
*I glance at Morgenstern suspiciously* It’s a silver recurve with engravings down the sides…
Hmm. I haven’t seen it, I’m afraid. Have you been in the woods lately? You may have left it there. I tend to leave a dagger or two in the woods after hunting.
-Raven
No, not recently. Perhaps.. No i didn’t have it when I was there…hmm…
Next time I go into the woods, I’ll look around. Maybe I’ll find it. By any chance, have you seen a spellbook with a leather cover and a silver pentagram on the front cover? I can’t find it anywhere.
-Raven
Nope, sorry…
Hey has anyone seen a basket weaved from golden thread full of herbs? I can’t seem to find it
Oh. It’s okay. I’ll go see if Damon or any of my fallen angel friends have seen it. Maybe my mentor knows where it is…
As for your question, Haley. I have not seen a basket weaves from golden thread. Sorry. Do you remember where you saw it last?
Stay safe, fuzzy bats!
-Raven
It was in my living room, but now I can’t see to find it anywhere…
seem. not see my bad.
Hmm… Well, are there any fae (fairies) living with you? It’s a possibility one of the fae (if they live with you or are hiding in your home) took it. I used to have problems with fae. Maybe a witch’s familiar took it.
-Raven
Your living room, huh? Well, if you live with your parents (I’m not sure how old you are, but due to the sites rules, I will not ask), ask them if they have seen a basket in the living room and if they have moved it. If you live alone, you might have a few tricky little fae running around, stealing your basket and other things. If neither of these are the cases, a certain demon may be able to tell me where our lost items may be. He may not know, though. I will report if he does have any information.
-Raven
Um, guys, I have a more pressing issue, PENELOPE IS GONE! I can’t find her anywhere…
TL
Penelope? Can’t she literally get up and walk away? those things are the hardest to find….
It seems we have a mystery on our hands. My scythe, Raven’s spellbook, Akantha’s bow, Haley’s basket, and Agent TL’s scythe/computer/cat. It seems that there is a thief among us…
Oh gods… Every single one of those items can be extremely dangerous, especially in the wrong hands
Oh dear god and goddess. And I can’t even get ahold of Damon or my friend who contains Damon within himself. Nor are my fallen angel friends responding. If we don’t find our missing items soon, we could be in some serious danger.
-Raven
One of my hats went missing as I was selling it to Red Fang, so add a hatter hat to the list
Huh im not missing anything except for a knee splint that i desperately need because of a knee injury
I think it can be safe to assume, hatter will be hhe next among us to lose a magical artifact, we must be on high alert, someone please find Janus before it’s to late!
We can’t afford to let this new enemy to gain anymore power than they already have…
TL
*I twirl a black sword over my wrist and watch with amusement* silly little people, couldn’t keep ahold of your weapons?
*I look at Morgenstern* You’re enjoying this a bit too much.
He is, and it’s not making him look any less suspicious.
I am not a “silly little person”, Morgenstern. What if you lost your sword? You would be upset too. The items we lost, or were most likely stolen from us, means something to us. Even if the reason is petty.
I apologize for any rudeness, but my temper as a vampire isn’t the stablest right now.
-Raven
aside from the sentimental value some of these objects can do great harm, possibly even to their owners. I would not look forward to having the first reaper scythe used against me nor would I enjoy having Kole’s bow used against me.
We need to figure out what they are going to do next. If Haley’s theory is correct then they will attempt to steal something else, we need to figure out what they will steal and which survivor they are going to try and steal it from.
You’re right, Akantha. And you too, Haley. Especially with that powerful hex in my spellbook, the power of the first reapers scythe, and the power of the other items stolen, we could be facing something terrible. And Akantha, we have to find out who is going to have something stolen. It’s a bit hard to predict this, especially considering how many survivors are on this website.
-Raven
I’ve notice that other than Haley it seems to have been older survivors who have powerful objects in their possession. There has to be a pattern in the order that they were stolen.
Well… Im going to take a shot in the dark here and say Mr.Mutt may be next. I mean he IS the oldest active survivor and is bound to have all kinds powerful items laying around.
Haley has a point there. Mr. Mutt is the oldest active survivor on the site. But if he has a lot of mystic items lying around, he may not notice anything being missing until it’s too late.
-Raven
It is possible. If we asked him to check though he will most likely be able to tell if somethings gone and if not try to protect it.
You’re right, TL. We need to do something and fast.
-Raven
One of my hats already went missing
😯 Where might this hat open a portal to I might ask?
TL
The 36 realms of the multiverse
The 36 realms of the multiverse? Interesting. Maybe that’s why the thief took it. Does your missing hat have any other abilities?
-Raven
One of your hats? Hmm. Things just keep coming up missing. Might I ask, does the hat you lost have any special abilities?
-Raven
Yes, it looks awesome on whoever wears it no matter the outfit.
Interesting. Mind telling me what your hat looks like?
-Raven
Interesting. Mind telling what your hat looks like?
-Raven
A black top hat with a pink interior and red band around it
Hmm. I’ve never seen a hat like that before.
-Raven
Just putting it out there that I have stolen nothing. Let’s just excuse my interest in artifacts of high significance.
Um, guys, I have a more pressing issue, PENELOPE IS GONE! I can’t find her anywhere…
TL
I wonder where the Hall of Famer announcement is.
We do not forgive, we do not forget, expect us.
If the current theory of the missing items is correct we can expect two more thefts to occur fairly soon, I want at least 10 reapers in all 36 realms…
Now let’s think about what theese items have in common, they may be powerful but there are alternatives that would be more so, save for reaper’s scythe…
I think whoever did this doesn’t want the items for their power, but rather to weaken us…
Of course this is just a theory…
Let’s all be on high alert…
TL
TL, I agree that we all should be on high alert. But I don’t see how losing my spellbook could weaken me. I know most of the spells in my book. Well, except for that hex. But, I have claws and my fangs. And my abilities are still intact. Anyways, if anyone else loses something that could weaken them, it could mean a lot of trouble.
-Raven
Uh, TL, is it just me, or is the underworld… quiet today? I don’t see anyone down here. Not even the souls…
That’s because I ate them.
Did you also eat Cerberus? There is no sign of him anywhere.
now THAT worries me…
No, just the souls. The reapers are in a pile over there. *I point to a dark mound rising up from the ground* as for Cerberus, he ran off after I cut his chains and told him what I intended to do.
*Irritation is written on my face and Sarcasm is evident in my voice* Lovely…Now I get to try and track him down…again…
*I shrug and go over to a wall* that’s your problem not mine. *I begin carving a pattern into the stone with what appears to be a small piece of chalk*
*studies the drawing curiously then shrugs and begins scribbling out everything Morgenstern writes*
* without looking up I snap out one wing, hitting Haley and send her flying a good hundred feet away*
*Watches at Akantha appears out of nowhere and takes the blow then turns to Morgenstern* That wasn’t very nice, and quite frankly a blow like that could have seriously injured me
* I smile ruefully at my friend as I walk up beside her shrugging off some of the dirt* I believe that was the point Haley… any particular reason you’re trying to get of his *I gesture to Morgenstern* nerves?
*Looks at Akantha surprised* I’m not trying to get on his nerves Kole, I just don’t trust him and I really don’t want to see what that *points to the pattern* is going to do when he’s finished with it.
*I look at Haley confused* Why didn’t you simply ask him?
*I ignore the two as I finish the pattern. The lines begin to glow with dark red light. They begin to move slowly like waves on an ocean with seemingly no pattern. I step away and look at it critiquely. Then I turn and walk away* if you value your existence I would recommend not touching that pattern. It will rip your soul from your body and turn you into fuel. *I pick up one of the bodies from the mound of reapers and toss it into the pattern. The lines glow more brightly and the body disappears. I continue the process*
*I catch one of the bodies and set it down then grab Morgenstern’s arm, glaring* I am afraid I can not let you do that.
*watches the scene for a moment before walking over* what’s going on here?
-Raven
*I glance at Raven and remove my hand from Morgenstern’s arm* I’m wondering the same thing, but until he explains I can not allow him to sacrifice anymore souls. Also I don’t appreciate being thrown a hundred feet across the underworld.
*I look at Morgenstern* why are you sacrificing souls? And why exactly did you throw her across the underworld? *my eyes turn from their usual black into a hazel* …. *puts a hand on my chest and cringes, clenching my teeth*
-Raven
*I raise an eyebrow and smirk slightly* tell me Akantha, did you ever fight Zanthre?
*I cringe at the memory* yes, and?
*My smiles widens as the light seems to fade from the surroundings* do you remember how he could change the world at will? How matter became fluid and how horribly helpless you felt while fighting him? *Suddenly the ground rises up encasing Akantha, burying her in a huge mound of dirt* because I have his power now, and no one can stop me.
Lilith watches from her glass observatory. “Oh, we shall see about that.”
*looks at Akantha, my eyes widening* Morgenstern…. release Akantha. Please. *stands up straight as my fangs grow sharper*
-Raven
*an arrow with a rope attached shoots out of the mound hitting a tree, suddenly the rope is pulled taut and I emerge now covered in dirt* The Akantha that fought Zanthre two years ago is a very different person from the one who now speaks to you.
*I look at Ravem with eyes the same color as a decaying sun* why would I do that? This is the fate of those who appose me. *I twist my hand and the earthen mound disappears along with Akantha. I then turn and toss another reaper into the pattern* as for YOU Lilith, I know your watching. I can sense your presence. Prepare yourself for your end is near. I’m coming for you.
*I glance at the mound my white ash longbow still in hand* My fate is to continue living by narrow escape? I can deal with that *My own pale gold eyes seem to glow brighter as I notch an arrow*
*I glance at Akantha and continue my work* I wouldn’t recommend that.
*I arch an eyebrow as I stare you in the eye* You’ve done your fair share of thing I wouldn’t have recommended. Sorry to tell you, but you’re no Zanthre.
*a small smile flickers across my face* then shoot.
*I smirk* gladly *I pull the bowstring back to it’s full draw then let the arrow loose, it flies past your head and strikes the wall behind you causing the glow to begin flickering* Did you assume that was for you Morgenstern? *I turn to face you once more*
*I laugh* of course not, the metal in your arrow was the only ingredient I was missing for my spell, I was hoping you’d shoot the pattern! *The light suddenly flairs drowning out everything in a red glow* adios Akantha! *I dive into the red light and disappear*
σκατά! *I pull an arrow out of my quiver, inspecting it closely* σκατά! *I run a hand through my hair knocking loose some of the all but forgotten dirt* Why am I so fricking predictable?! γαμώτο!
τι στο διάολο έχουν Πήγα και γίνεται τώρα? *I walk up to the portal and attempt to seal it hoping to trap Morgenstern*
Kole? Kole *grabs her shoulders and shakes her somewhat violently* Calm down. Then, Explain. In English.
*I clench my teeth* calm down, Akantha. But please, try to seal that pattern close. *i put a hand on my chest and start breathing heavily* it’s very powerful. And causing my chest to hurt.
-Raven
In short *Hold up an arrow* This is not mine. He knew that. He also knew I wouldn’t shoot him. I need to figure out why these *I gesture to my quiver* are not mine and how he knew that.
Maybe he replaced them?
*finishes sealing off the portal* There, but I doubt it will hold. This portal is ridiculously powerful.
You’re right, Akantha. *stands up straight and pulls a dagger from the holster on my belt, the dagger is silver with an odd pattern engraved onto the metal* but we need to make sure it stays closed. For good.
-Raven
*Suddenly golden fire erupts all around the pattern, when it clears norther the wall not the pattern are still there. In there place are words, written in what appears to be blood “NICE SEALING SPELL, TO BAD THE PORTAL MOVES”*
*I ignore the obvious taunt in these words as my hand glows the same shad as my eyes* wherever his portal moved to it is not in the underworld *The glow slowly fades away* we’re going to have to try and use strategy here, because every time we haven’t he’s been at least two steps ahead.
*nods* but what do you suppose we do? One wrong move and he could be further ahead than needed. *grips dagger tightly*
-Raven
Well, firstly *picks up the chalk left by Morgenstern then draws a circle and s symbols around where the portal was* we don’t want him to hear us. Secondly we need to figure out what his plans are, and Thirdly I think we’re going to need more help. Perhaps you could lend a hand Lilith? * turns and looks towards where she senses Lilith’s presence the strongest*
*raises an eyebrow then turns to were Haley is looking* yes, Lilith? Would you mind helping us? *eyes turn back to black*
-Raven
Suddenly from the forest, a bruised and broken Ice is thrown in the center of the field, his captors seemingly fled, he is sealed in ebony shackles and chains that adorn his wrists and ankles.
*I lay slumped on the ground breathing shallowly unable to heal yet unable to pass on* I’m sorry…
*hears Ice and turns around, seeing him* oh gods…. *runs over* do you want me to heal you? *starts panicking*
-Raven
*I look at Raven and suddenly a wave of thoughts and memories flow out of my mind into hers. Images flash by of a laughing woman with gold and white wings, then that same woman screaming in agony a cruel and amused voice in the background saying, “Go ahead Ice, end her suffering. I’m doing you a favor, she gets the release you’ll never have.” Then suddenly in the depths of my mind I here Morgenstern screaming “I will have vengeance on you for what you’ve done! You could have saved her!!! It’s your fault!!! Finally the image of Madame shade, how her form shifted into that of the woman’s, and how her eyes held the same light. My own voice saying “You dïęd…. I kįllęd you…”* I don’t deserve help… *I pass out*
*whispers* Yes, you do, Ice… Everyone deserves help…. *pulls out my pentagram necklace and starts chanting a healing spell*
-Raven
*I see Raven and Ice and rush over beginning to cast a healing spell of my own*
*Sees Raven’s eyes change color and begins to wonder* Why do so many survivors’ eyes seem to do that?
*looks at Haley* oh, my eyes? They change from black to brown to hazel. They’ve done that all of my life. I’m not sure what it means, really. I try not to think about it too long. *smirks* they’re black, aren’t they?
-Raven
*nods* Akantha’s eyes do it too, especially when she uses magic. Mine just stay their normal chocolate brown color
Oh? my eyes change from their usual dark green to a pale gold whenever I’m feeling a strong emotion, using magyk, or thinking through something. any other color is simply because I want them to be that color at that exact moment.
*smiles a bit* well, when my eyes are brown, it means I’m neutral. When they’re black, I’m either happy, amused, or using magick. If they’re hazel, it means I’m angry, upset, or hungry for blood. *my dark brown hair falls in my face then I tuck it behind my ear* my eyes started becoming a hazel color when I awakened as a vampire though. For what reason, I’m not sure.
-Raven
*I shrug* there could be many reasons for it.
*nods* indeed, Akantha.
-Raven
