This week a dangerous new trend is lighting up the world – catching fairies in a jar. Who is doing this and how and why?
It may seem fun to catch a travelling fairy and keep it in a jar but if you or someone you love is planning to engage in this dangerous new hobby, stop and read this first. Your very survival depends on it!
You may have seen it going around, fairy trap making instructions that describe how to bait a clear glass jar with the contents of a broken glow stick and bits of coloured paper to simulate fairy dust, before strategically placing the jar in the branches of trees in high traffic fairy areas. The idea here being that fairies, like birds and insects and other flying beasts and beings, have difficulty detecting the presence of glass at high speed.
“If you have positioned the baited jar just right, in the middle of a known fairy chemin {fairy highway} the jar will light up when a fairy flies in it. This is your signal to place the lid and screw it tight,” reads one dangerous website before going on to describe fun party games you can play with a fairy in a jar, games like Shake the Fairy and Make a Wish. Games that are just so wrong on so many levels.
How many levels? Well start with three:
LEVEL ONE WRONGNESS OF FAIRY JARS:
Shaking a fairy in a jar might seem like a fun little personal light show to you but think about it from the fairy’s point of view. You have just trapped her/him in travel form, a form that looks like a pretty streak or ball of light to you and fits easily into your jar now, but which must be maintained by sustained unidirectional motion. By shaking your fairy, you are making her dizzy and very possibly sick to her stomach, which in turn makes it difficult if not impossible for her to maintain light travel form. Plus, it’s a little known fact that while fairies don’t really eat per sey, they are world-famous vomiters.
And if your fairy can’t maintain travel form, then what happens? Well for starters:
LEVEL TWO WRONGNESS:
What makes you think all fairies will fit comfortably in your little jar anyway? Sure, in motion, they all look like a pretty ball of light or will-o-wisp or whatever but that’s where the similarities end. Have you ever seen a tooth fairy at work, for instance? If you have, then you know what I’m talking about. Do you really want an angry tooth fairy who didn’t make his quota that day because you trapped him in a tiny jar without even a single air hole poked in the lid? Which brings me to….
LEVEL THREE WRONGNESS:
After you stuff a busy fairy into a jar with no lid and shake her around for a few hours, do you really think she is going to grant you a magic food stick that makes every kind of food appear on it? Why? Just because you opened the lid and offered to let him out? Really?
Even if you can convince the fairy you weren’t the one who trapped her in the jar, that you’re just the helpy bystander to let her out – which you probably can’t because that fairy is going to be mad – but even if you could, think about it. Fairies are not omniscient or omnipotent beings. Each fairy has their particular area of specialization. What makes you think you have captured the right fairy for your wish? You could have a delayed a simple Parking Fairy in that jar. Or the even lesser known, Lost Sock Fairy. Point is, he or she probably can’t give you millions of dollars — even if he wanted to. Which this fairy most assuredly does not want to do because you trapped him in a jar, remember?
Which brings us to…
WRONGNESS LEVEL FOUR:
Ever trap a bee in a Coke bottle, shake it up and then let it go? If you have then you know what I’m talking about. Now multiply that by a thousand times and add some fairy magic. What do you get? Bad hair for life. Missing socks. A stem where your legs used to be. Not a party, let’s just be clear.

I’m staying with some people I can trust, and there’s this girl who is catching fairies as hobby… She didn’t manage to actually catch one yet, but she was very close to it when I came to warn her. So, thanks alot for warning me just in time.
By the way, do you know anything that can… Er… ‘Ghostify’ stuff? I saw a boy stealing from someone, so I followed him. Then he touched a wall and ran straight through it… The wall had a strange aura for five seconds, then I tried to do the same… And let’s just say, it worked, kind of… My thumb managed to go through before the wall became normal again. It hurt like hell, and I had to waste alot of my power to get it free again… Very annoying… So, does anyone know something that can ‘ghostify’ stuff?

Well atoms are mostly empty space. In theory if you could get the bits of atom that are actual matter to go in between each other you could in theory walk through walls. The probability of this naturally occurring is so little (especially for something as thick as a wall) that it would take virtually eternity to pass through walls so I wouldn’t advise you to try. However with a little magic anything is possible. Magic could help a person and the wall move out of each other’s way without killing the person. I do admit that I have no idea who might posses this kind of magic. I would advise asking the community on the Witch page if there is anyone in particular who would be able to do this.

Okay, I’ll try that… Oh, and P5t5r? I’ve always been curious about this… Do you, as cyborg, work on windows or something like that? And… Do you remember everything you see and hear or do you have to activate something to remember? Oh, and about the ghostify thing, I think he changed the wall to a gas for a moment… But that doesn’t explain it getting back to its normal form again that fast… And why was my finger IN a wall? Hm… On second thought, I don’t think he changed the wall to a gas… Do you know the triangle from gas and liquid and stuff like that? Maybe there’s another one, another one in the middle of that traingle… Just a guess… On second thought (again), I don’t think that’s the case… Your theory sounds more… Logic. I don’t run on windows. I have my own Operating System designed to be more compatible with my human side. I have a preference for Macs, but I think that’s just because my parents are elementary school teachers and I grew up with Macs at home and in their classrooms. The integration of my robot and human parts is pretty seamless. The robot part is more or less a part of me just as much as the biological. It’s sort of like my subconscious in that it runs in the background to help me out. I have some control over it but it mostly runs itself. It is one of those essential systems like your heartbeat or breathing that is always on and always trying to serve you but you have little to no conscious control over it. Like I said it’s like a part of me. The robot and human part both function smoothly and in union as if they were one. I owe a great debt to whoever is behind this great masterpiece, they did an excellent job.

I just saw him again… So, I ran after him as fast as I could, but apparently, he has some werewolves as friends… And I think they see me as a treath… I managed to get away with nothing more than a scratch… But now I saw how he does it, kind of. First he touches the wall, then he’s able to walk through it. Er… Do werewolves hold grudges? If so, I just knocked out a werewolf… Anyway, I’m not bitten, and even if I were, I won’t turn into a werewolf… I’m in some sort of cave right now, so I’ll have to check if it’s safe deeper inside and then I might even decide to live in it… So, I’ll do that now. I didn’t get to see much of his hair, he was wearing a hood. But what I saw from his hair wasn’t very light, so it could have been dark red hair. Though I think it was more brown-ish, there is a chance I didn’t see it good enough…
Oh, and that cave I was talking about… Turns out that werewolf I knocked out lives here, he’s stuck in his wolf form. There’s another werewolf in human form here who is able to translate everything the wolf says. And they’re letting me stay for now…

Vosul, try to get him in sunlight. If that isn’t possible, just bite his head off. If it doesn’t kill him, it should at least keep him bussy for some time. Make sure to hide his head somewhere. Then, if you want, you can bite his body too. It’ll annoy him and slow him down from recovering. Good luck and be careful.

Well, neither. It wasn’t jelly or nonexistent, it felt like… Hm, it’s hard to explain, but I’ll try… It felt like it was touching my skin without really touching it… The same way a breeze feels. But the only difference with a breeze is, with this you also feel it IN your body. But I only managed to get my thumb through it, so I can’t tell for sure. But what I do know is, he’s breaking the law of nature by doing whatever he’s doing. When my thumb was stuck in the wall, there were atoms IN other atoms, which is why I had such a hard time getting it out.

As to your earlier question regarding the half-contali? I half to admit to my half-ignorance. What I mean is, half of it makes sense. Like the half of half-Contali that means HALF is pretty clear to me but not the other half. In short, what is a Contali then? Can you fill us in?
Regarding the ghostification question, my research today shows in addition to ghosts, a pair of ghostifying glasses appearing around the world, used by even simple humans. Was this perp wearing glasses that looked something like this…?

Sorry, I forgot we erased the memories of other living beings about our existens. You could see us as some sort of ‘God’. With us I mean Contali… I’m not full-Contali anymore, but I keep forgetting that. I’ll explain what Contali is first… Like I said, you could see them as some sort of God-race, even though they can die… But they aren’t meant to die, if they do… Well, I’ll get to that later. First, what can they do? Well, Contali are able to ‘spawn’ everything that doesn’t live. For living beings, we need some sort of ancient wand. I just forgot its name… Actually, it’s pretty funny you don’t know about them. I mean, you’re LIVING on them. Three Contali are Earth. One Contali is the sun. We use some weird thing, you could see it as some sort of ore, to create planets. Our capitel-planet is Pyrafrey, home… And most of us, not me, are on their strongest when it’s cold. VERY cold. That’s why Pyrafrey is so cold. Back to the Contali abilities… Contali are able to create things, I made Mira, but they are also able to ‘transform’ in everything you could immagine. Actually, even more than you could immagine. Fun fact, the first living being was a Contali. Also, the big bang was the first time a Contali ‘officially’ died. Most Contali die a different way… They die because they were stupid enough to visit Ninespears. Ninespears is the only thing Contali are afraid of. Why? Because it’s unkown. Ninespears is on a planet with an island. On that island are, as the name says, nine giant spears. As big as mountains. It’s impossible to break it. But recently, that island has been sealed with a VERY powerful barrier spell. Even the Contali can’t enter it anymore. I forgot who sealed it, but I do know this: you should be grateful for it. Also, with recently, I mean ten ages ago. Now to the dying part… Normally, when Contali die, if they die, they disappear from existence. I mean, if they die, the past chances like that so they never even existed. Also, you shouldn’t be afraid of Contali. There was just one evil Contali, and that’s the one who made the big bang with his death.
Now more personal things… I hate orcs and demons. Orcs has something to do with the past… Please don’t ask. The demons is because one demon tricked me. I don’t remember how exactly, but it managed to get my body locked in his lair. My mind managed to escape with the help of an old friend… I won’t betray him by telling his identity, he’s very old and VERY powerful. The older a Contali is, the stronger it is. I think I covered nearly everything now… Except one thing, I found out I’m not half-Contali, or Condemi as I like to call it, but… Well, my mind is full-Contali but my body is… Er… Something I still have to figure out. I did see a tail in my shadow, while I know pretty sure I don’t have one… And one last thing, please call me Kzaz, it’s a bit shorter than my full name.
Oh, and I had to say something… I found a talking stone… It said this: ‘Beware, the Cycle might come to Earth’
I don’t think you know about the Cycle… Let me say one thing, it’s dangerous… Only the weakest will survive…

He didn’t wear glasses, but I saw his eyes now… His eyes are normally brown-yellow, but when he ‘ghostifies’ stuff, his eyes change to purple. And they also glow a little… When I asked him about this, he said it was his ‘Ghost Vision’, just before he ran through a wall.

It looks like you met the high-ranks… Mutt, I know, we aren’t gods. But please, remember this… You’re living at the mercy of the Contali. If they wanted, they could wipe out every living being. Of course, it would take some time, but they can do it. Lucky for you, we made rules. Most of us don’t like chaos that much, except one of my brothers, but he also is a necromancer. By the way, there’s no way Contali have an end, the most powerful Contali, the oldest too, is the first and most powerful timelord. If he wanted, he could change time in such a way the dinosaurs survived. Or speed up the time of the sun so it grows too big for people on Earth to live. He doesn’t do that because then he’d make four pretty powerful Contali annoyed. And… He’s known to be a little bit lazy.
I can say you should respect your elders, but that sounds a bit weird… Mutt, I don’t know how strong you are, but if you are very strong, than you’re probably stronger than at least the five youngest Contali, myself included. Oh, did I tell you? I don’t think so… I’m the youngest Contali at the moment.

This is getting interesting, but you’re wrong with one thing. The Cycle won’t end. It won’t. We need it. But it doesn’t need us. I don’t know nor care how strong you are, the Cycle is something that can wipe you out. I never said we are immortal. We are immortal in the way we won’t die of age, and in the way we haven’t encountered anything strong enough to actually ‘kill’ us except for the Cycle, something in Ninespears and usself. Allow me to apologize, I guess I shouldn’t say things without knowing what the other person is. However, it’s still true that Contali aren’t supposed to die. It happens, of course. But when it happens, time reforms in a way that the dead Contali never existed. That’s probably why it has only happened one time. Time couldn’t reform, since a timelord changed it back the moment time reformed. Hm, now I think of it, you’re right, everything ends. Even time… I nearly disappeared because I fell in some sort of time-hole… We have that sometimes in Pyrafrey, very annoying. But, what are you? If you’re stronger than Contali, I’m very curious what you are. Are there more of your race? I’m just curious, the one who made me Contali said I may be the most curious Contali at the moment. If a young man at the prime of his life were to face off against an old man he would win wouldn’t he? That is of course assuming the old man hasn’t perfected the art of Kyuki-do. But what if he had and what if the young man knew nothing of fighting? I am the old man who has perfected his craft. I have forgotten more then most will ever know. There are more of my kind but they are no stronger then any archangel. As for what I am, I am the Original Hybrid.

Hm, a wind werewolf? I hope you weren’t the werewolf I knocked out… Anyway, I don’t think you will understand this, but let’s just give it a try… I am Kzazrier Vetanari, probably the only Half-Contali, or Condemi as I like to call it (demi from semi), you’ll ever find.
So, why are you called a wind werewolf? Can you control wind? Or are you just very fast, as fast as the wind? You made me pretty curious…

Kzaz, the cycle, im quite curious about it, if you say the weak will die do you mean Age or strength because by cycle i thought it could be about ageing (life-cycle)everybody suddenly ages and dies or something but if it was strength-wise the weakest could survive because they acknowledge they are weak, and the strong don’t.
Just a theory though, did i even get close.

You’re wrong, the weakest won’t die, they’ll survive. The strongest will die. Think, a man who can take down hundred enemies is strong, right? While a healer who can’t take down anyone is considered weak. However, the healer has to take care of the man’s wounds. Who’s stronger now? If the healer decides not to take care of his wounds, he will die. That is the moment when the weak become strong. If you’re really interested in the Cycle, you should look for Sentinel. He knows everything. Or at least a lot… The last time I saw that thing, it was in the only jail in Pyrafrey.
Mages may have a chance to survive. That’s what someone I respect said, the leader of a college. He is training his students so they will survive the Cycle, and they’re really good at it. They survived 47 of them. That’s what I heard from him.
If you consider yourself weak, you’re going to die for sure. The Cycle is not something you understand in five minutes. I’ve studied it for years and still don’t entirely understand it. I’ll just give another part you have to memorize and then we’re done…
