Beyond the tooth collecting, godmotherly wish-granting variety, there’s the ugly-beautiful truth about fairies or faeries, as they are sometimes spelled.
Fairies can slip into and out of a realm or a dimension, if you prefer, that runs parallel to our own. This faery realm is NOT one you will see advertised at your local inter-dimensional travel agency. The real faery realm appears perennially stuck in a medieval state of magical, monarchical governance at perpetual war with itself, North vs. South, summer vs. winter. It’s a dangerous place where other-dimensional beings are generally taken in only as slaves.
As a result, some of the younger fairies like to escape into our realm, which they refer to as something like “Middle Realm,” or by the number three. They come here on fairy vacation, mainly to party and play games. In fact if you have played with a deck of cards lately, you already know something about this. It’s faeries who first introduced playing cards to us, long ago.
Now I like playing cards too but don’t be fooled by a game of “Fish.” Faery games are NOT all that fun. True, some fairies still play, “Who Can Collect The Most Kids’ Teeth?” – which we all know IS a lot of fun because they leave money! But other games they like to play include, “Who Can Cause the Biggest Fall?” “Dance Until You Drop,” and “Make Everybody Fall In Love With You!” Point is, to the fairies, good and bad, we are like dolls in their little vacay games with each other.
Further complicating matters, faeries look almost human. In fact they are very beautiful. Only on closer inspection can you see the odd shape of their eyes or the length of their bones and the extra joints in their limbs. Or the fact they can’t quite manage to lift many objects in our realm due to the content of iron in them.
On the plus side, fairies are very loyal and if a fairy befriends you? They will be your friend forever and possibly help you find lost objects and good parking spots. Even so, you must never let down your guard 100% and above all never agree to return to Fairyland, no matter what.

Thanks for the report. This sounds more than a little suspicious to me. How do you know about the teeth part? Did you find a stash of them on her? Or just from talking the subject comes up a lot?
Congrats you may be the first fairy friend on the whole site. If she’s collecting teeth she can’t be all bad. (Providing she’s leaving the cash under the pillow of course. And not ripping them directly out of kids mouths. If she’s just taking the teeth without paying the bill… well that’s another story. )
Maybe be a little careful if she suggests playing any games.

How could I have overlooked this dangerous comment? Don’t fall for the faerie PR machine! For centuries fairies or faeries were considered even more dangerous than demons and then they got an in at Disney and … well the rest is history. Now it’s true they can’t fight or kill you outright the way some other beings do and yeah, some of them still offer cash for teeth and run around throwing magic dust that makes your eyes crusty in the morning – but this is just the tip of the iceberg. In fact, this time of year you should be more aware of them than ever because spring and babies being born brings them out. Like demons they like to get in on the ground floor of a new life but unlike demons they don’t make deals with your mom and dad for you, they just do a little switcheroo and send you off to a life of slavery in the faery realm. On the plus side of that, you get all your baby teeth back, which is nice.

Earthfairy its SO cool to meet a full fairy. Can I ask you what color your wings are? I always wanted to know if wings can be different colors. I met a little girl the other day who told me she was part fairy because she had one pointy ear. She was pretty excited about it but she hadnt experienced any fairy abilities yet.
Is there actually fairy dust? If so, how do you use it? I wanted to sprinkle some in my hair. I am a werewolf so I mostly spend time over at the werewolf site but I’m so interested in other creatures that I like reading all the forums. Have you checked out the monstrometer yet?

My wings are bittersweet color. When fairies are born, they have like a light blue or sometimes green color. All fairies have different wing colors. And there are different types of fairies too! I’m a pixie changeling. I was swapped for a real human baby when I was born. And fairy dust isn’t real. But you can make some! I have seen the monstrometer on my human brothers phone, and My human brother shows me the other forums too since fairies hate iron and machines, I read off the computer screen and he scrolls it down. I also tell him what to type in my comments. PS If a fairy EVER invites you into their dimension, (other than me ‘cuz ill bring you back

Thanks for checking in and keeping on. And for these sober reminders about the perilous perils of playing with fairies. If you don’t end up enslaved in their faerie realm, you could be sucker searching for them forever in a never ending game of hide and seek!
As for the iron debate, I think it’s clear the iron content of various machines must vary and so probably does the tolerance for it from fairy to fairy. Do you ever wear gloves like Scar’s friend?
Also another question here, if you are a pixie changeling, are you still related to your brother? Does he know? And have you found out anything of the girl you replaced?

Hi Seth I think I may have a Fairie problem. I was in my garden checking out my winter herb boxes and found little foot prints in the snow all around my garden what is really odd is my roses are growing and are starting to bloom wich is impossible since its -25 degree celsius. At night it sounds like a party is taking place in my garden, but when I check it out it’s quiet. Not sure what to do? Any help would be great. Thanks . Bebe

Hi Seth I did feel the need for a nap after discovering the roses and I did bring one into the house there very (yawn)beautiful and intoxicating they make me sssooo happy and (yawn) peaceful.
The flower is making you sleep Bebe, the roses are blooming because of a “magical miracle growth”, faeries often use flowers for social gatherings or relaxation places, they have taken a liking to your garden and and cursed the flowers so if you pull them you’ll fall asleep for long quantities of time, until you never wake up of course.
ARC recommends throwing the flower out, faeries don’t like cyborgs, having a cyborg friend go to your garden might drive them out, it’s true that iron is dangerous, having a “walking piece of iron” will end things quickly.

Hi Seth I tried a banishing spell. It backfired insted of the rose banishing my couch did. Zyborganna has put it in one of the bedrooms that we don’t use and I put a protection spell around the door. I’m not sure what to do with it, and then theres the rose bush in the garden. Yes the cruise invite came when the flowers were blooming. And at the same time that guy who keeps watching and following started giving me gifts.

A somewhat belated thanks for this highly suspicious report. You should be aware the incdents of fairy reports on teh site have skyrocked over the last several months and many of them do indeed relate to suspicious plants. As you probably know, plants serve as portals to the fairy realm.
So how do you know if your home is harboring fairy portal plants? Well start by asking, where did your dad get these plants? Did he grow them from a seed? if so, where did he get the seeds? Have you observed them over a 24 hour period, maybe by setting up a hidden camera? Do they emit mysterious powder?
Until you can determine for sue, you need to stock up on iron. A hunk of it on your bedroom door should help if you don’t have any iron jewellry. Also eat a big steak or a bunch of spinach if you’re a vegetarian, to ensure your blood is strong.
I’ll try to send some of the survivors with fairy experience your way. I think this includes Bebe in particular, she had a suspicious incident with a rose.

Hi I’m Bebe I’ve had this problem too and yes it is fairies. To find out what plant it is look for one that is new arrival one you never seen before or noticed, if you do find one look to see if it is very healthy fairies seem to have healthy, beautiful flowery plants. To get rid of this plant and fairies bun it outside if you can’t burn it spray the plant with spray glue and sprinkle iron filings over it this will pervent and unfortunately kill the plant any fairies trying to get through. This is my theory so far on the matter. “E” fairies are old school. Really old school. The traditional faerie fams who hang around Stonehenge and other mystical circular sites, popping in and out of our world to steal babies or the younger ones, to play tricks and games with humans on special occasions.
By contrast the “i” fairies are usually more harmless. The “i” fairies are the ones who get glammed up to give makeovers to Princesses or just to help a human find a good parking space.
That’s my theory so far anyway. What do you think? Are you currently experiencing a fairy faerie or faery crisis?

Hi Seth I think I got Fairies again in my garden my tulips are still growing and they glow at night. I’m also noticing things in my home have been moved or gone missing I can handle the garden but what can I use inside to get rid of them?
I found a mirror on my fire place this morning and it was not there last night and when I look in it I see shadows moving in it I keep looking and have a hard time not looking in the mirror. The frame is gold and have lots of pretty bling it’s sssooo pretty I feel drawn to it…….

Hello once again Seth, glad to see you found my post.
Like I said, I found a site that I absolutely love that answers tons of questions regarding us faye folk. Unfortunately, I dunno if I can disclose it to you because I don’t know how the fairy that owns the site would react.
As for what is a dragonfly fairy, it’s just a typical fairy with dragonfly wings. We’re also friends to many dragonflies and even damselflies as well. And no, I don’t eat mosquitoes. In fact, I tend to eat like a normal human does–though I can’t tollerate the greasy foods like pizza. I’m more of a fruit, veggie and sweets lover myself.
I guess I can say this much about us, don’t get discouraged if you leave some food or drink for fairies. It may look untouched, but we will still check it out and we take the essence of the food or drink. So if the item looks a little faded, then you can be sure we payed a small vist. All this talk about food is making me hungry now. I guess it’s time to sneak off a crumb of cereal from a human. I hope that answers everything, Seth.

Hi Seth, thank you for warding off that really strange alien. Anyway, I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt if you ended up eating something we already have. Taste might be a little different (i.e. faded or stale) but other than that we wouldn’t mind if you ended up eating it after we took a few essence nibbles.
As for your fairy form question, I am not always in fairy form. In fact, fairies don’t actually have wings at all (even the site I reffered to earlier confirms this). Occasionally, we may addorn some form of insect wings or plant-like wings, but it’s all in fun and decoration. Sometimes when we are seen by a human, it may look like we have wings when we don’t actually wear any because of the bright aura that we have.
Now, where I live is a place in the north eastern part of the United States. It’s very woodsy where I live which is fairy activity can be considered pretty high.
You seem like an interesting human, Seth. Alright, I trust you. I will divuldge the site in which you may find out more about fairies and even debunk a few myths. However, if you plan to ever share the site on here, please do ask the fairy that actually owns it. I don’t want to get into trouble, you see.

It’s interesting what you say about the wings. There are many reports on the site about shadow wings but few about bright light wings, except in regards to angels. Have you ever been mistaken for an angel?

Thanks for your survival update and for checking into SOS. I’m not surprised to hear about this faeirie activity today. The full moon coinciding with Halloween like this gives them entry to our world. Faeries look for cosmic opportunities like this to squeeze through the inter-dimensional hedges and basically have some fun, switching babies and the like. Er,but you didn’t switch any babies did you? If so, I advise you to switch them back, immediately! Please before the full moon closes and the opportunity is gone. Very important here. Parents do not like having their babies switched for changelings.
Okay but how do you know if you were kidnapped? Or if you actually ARE a fairy? A changeling yourself perhaps?
Well you may notice The Monstrometer does not yet identify fairies. There’s a reason for that. Well two actually. First, Graham has misplaced priorities. He thinks that his degree will help him more than performing epic survival research with me. Crazy, I know. Second, my faerie research leaves something to be desired. But I do know this much. Floating and making plants grow is not normal. Well floating is sort of normal but NOT making plants grow. Especially scary plants. What plants are they? And how are you making them grow? Just by your presence or by touching them or…? Please tell me you’re not talking about roses. That’s a dead giveaway.
The good news is that fairies can and do blend in – hence the whole changeling phenom – but they do have to work at it. Not as much as say, ghosts have to work at it, but a lot more than werewolves. Except on the full moon. Then werewolves of course have to work a bit harder.
Can you put your feet on the ground and walk to a friends house? If so borrow some clothing before you go home.

Hi Seth I can walk on the ground but can’t get to any friends house they have moved away or have gone missing. When I went to bed last night I had my Hello Kitty pj’s on now I’m in a dress in a forest the plants around me start to grow when I touch them my skin is white now and flawless wich is fantastic but really scary. Well Zana it sounds like you have to do something with nature… Have you considered that you could be a faerie Druid hybrid? I know it is unlikely but not impossible. Please correct me if I am wrong Seth but Druids do have powers that can interfere with nature… I think.

Thanks for keeping on out there. Fairies are pretty famous for baby swapping i.e.: kidnapping human babies and putting a fairy baby in their place. Most people think that they can’t have babies with humans but that by switching a fairy baby, then they can gain knowledge of and access to our realm.
(Now some people also add that the poor human baby ends up a slaveling in the faery realm but that’s another story.)
So are you a changeling? Well there are a few ways to know. Are you double jointed? Fairies generally have secret extra joints in their fingers. Are you weakened by iron? Try picking up a cast iron frying pan – those heavy black ones – and you will know. It will sap your strength. And if you bathe with it? It will poison you. So don’t do that, no matter how much faster it is than washing it. There are other tests but start there and see how it goes.
OH – and here’s a big one. Are there any strange plants surrounding your home? Do a thorough inspection. Any plants you don’t recognize? Report them immediately.
And if you see Midnight Wrath in the shadows out there, make sure you say stick together and help each other survive.

Thanks for checking in and helping out Nina. When were you sworn to secrecy about the fairies? Does this have anything to do with the intruder on your territory – the night you had to protect your sister? Is it because of the fairies you can’t keep your form?
If so, remember this much: fairies can’t cope with iron. Iron tools are heavy but if you keep a bag of iron filings on you, you can fight fairy dust with fairy dust.

Thanks and yes my friends are always laughing at me at home because i try to pick up the cast iron pan and i manage it but its difficult for me. one of my thumbs are double jointed. My yard is covered in plants like tall grasses, rose bushes, flowers and most are natural but last summer some strange flowers that weren’t native started growing by my house and strawberry and raspberry bushes. None of these were planted! Im not sure if that counts but in conclusion there are strange plants that i haven’t really seen anywhere but my house.

I truthfully don’t know much. I know I’m a fairy, and how to do some things, but I’m a different type of fairy. Like how there’s these fairies, nature-y fairies, the tooth fairy, Disney fairies, etc. I’m a diff type of fairy. I may be able to teach you some things tho.
