      Hail WWgirl,

Thanks for keeping on. I can assure you that Fenrir, like many WWs does indeed have a powerful mark mark however I can’t guarantee when or even if he will leave one nor that it will finally turn you into a WW. Marking is a highly secretive practice, which explains why there is very little reliable info about it. and some confusion among even seasoned supernaturals. It is entirely possible that may have received one and not known about it. It may only show up on the full moon or in the rain or when you eat a muffin, for all I know.

No, Fenrir is a little, eh, delusioned. You need no mark to become werewolf, simply a curse from a powerful witch, a god or goddess, or an intense offense again nature would suffice. You might make a deal with a spirit for a werewolf like condition in return for something else, perhaps you have to leave food in the forest for a wolf pack, or maybe dedicate all your hunts to that particular spirit.

Isn’t Fenrir the Norse god of wolves who created the original werewolves with the runic Mark?

          July 24, 2014 at 8:30 pm

That is to be disputed. The original werewolves, as I was made aware of, were an amalgamation of human flesh and wolf spirit. Their souls weaved together with that of a wolves’, through this union they were able to change their shape. These progenitors were of a tribe who came about before recorded civilization. I did not encounter them during those dark days, when man was first getting on its feet, though I was not on the Earth for a large portion of that time. You might have better luck asking the Hatter, or perhaps the Reaper.
Fenrir kind of came out of nowhere proclaiming to be a god werewolves so 😐

There is no god of werewolves. The closest to a god of werewolves you might get is a lunar deity. Fenrir is technically not a god, either.

*here’s what I got from Wikipedia*
In Norse mythology, Fenrir (Old Norse: “fen-dweller”),[1] Fenrisúlfr (Old Norse: “Fenris wolf”),[2] Hróðvitnir (Old Norse: “fame-wolf”),[3] or Vánagandr (Old Norse: “the monster of the river Ván”)[4] is a monstrous wolf. Fenrir is attested in the Poetic Edda, compiled in the 13th century from earlier traditional sources, and the Prose Edda and Heimskringla, written in the 13th century by Snorri Sturluson. In both the Poetic Edda and Prose Edda, Fenrir is the father of the wolves Sköll and Hati Hróðvitnisson, is a son of Loki, and is foretold to kill the god Odin during the events of Ragnarök, but will in turn be killed by Odin’s son Víðarr.

In the Prose Edda, additional information is given about Fenrir, including that, due to the gods’ knowledge of prophecies foretelling great trouble from Fenrir and his rapid growth, the gods bound him, and as a result Fenrir bit off the right hand of the god Týr. Depictions of Fenrir have been identified on various objects, and scholarly theories have been proposed regarding Fenrir’s relation to other canine beings in Norse mythology. Fenrir has been the subject of artistic depictions, and he appears in literature

          And there you have it!

Leafpool, you’ll likely need to find another means of becoming a werewolf. Whatever is true or not, we drove Fenrir away from this place, he will not likely be back for a long while, if ever. He is still active on Lupine Life, last I heard.
